Bush recently vetoed a law that would allow federal funds to be allocated for embryonic stem cell research. The only reason I bring this up is because the German magazine Der Spiegel [fails to report](http://www.spiegel.de/wissenschaft/mensch/0,1518,489818,00.html “USA: Bush kippt Gesetz zu Stammzellenforschung – Wissenschaft – SPIEGEL ONLINE – Nachrichten”) the real reason why Bush vetoed it, making him and the religious conservatives look like opponents of scientific progress for no reason.

[A while back](http://blog.zerodeviation.net/2007/05/12/challenge-on-impeccability/ “zerodeviation.net :: blog » Blog Archive » Challenge on impeccability”) I was asking for someone to find a flaw in my logic that Christ had to be impeccable. Probably due to the sorry number of readers of my blog (I love you guys!) there was no answer. However, writing it out like that helped me think about it some more and I found the mistake in my argument. The real core question was this: If God knows something will happen a certain way, do I still have a real choice of making that something happen?
This is “Sovereignty vs Free Will 101″; of course I still have free will. God knowing it doesn’t _cause_ it to happen anymore than me seeing two cars -who can’t see each other- from the top of a building racing around the same corner about to hit each other is causing the accident. I think that answers my question.

My wife loves animals. One day, while they were at the Oklahoma City Animal Shelter for school, they worked on a dog labeled a Pit mix and
thus destined for euthanasia and city dump. They decided she really wasn’t a Pit-bull at all but rather Lab and Boxer, so she and her friend adopted her and my wife brought her home.
